NOW SOLD OUT

Come and get your snorkel on and experience the underwater wonders of the Kāpiti Marine Reserve and the incredible birdlife and bush of the Kāpiti Island Nature Reserve at this fun, adventurous, family event brought to you by the Mountains to Sea Wellington Trust and Experiencing Marine Reserves with support from the DoC Community Fund and the Guardians of Kāpiti Marine Reserve.

Meeting at the Kāpiti boating club at 7-45am, you will be transported across the Te Rau-o-Te-Rangi channel to Rangatira Point, Kāpiti island on the ferry Te Aihe where your adventure begins....

Once on the island, our snorkel guides will help you explore the spectacular underwater world of the Kāpiti marine reserve where you might see octopus, eagle rays, reef fish such as the Red Moki and Banded Wrasse, Paua, kina, starfish, sea cucumbers and many other interesting and unique NZ marine animals and plants thriving in the reserves protected waters.

After you've completed your snorkel adventure you will have plenty of time to relax on the beach or head inland to explore the interior of the island via DoC's well marked walking tracks that take you through stunning native bush that is teeming with NZ's most iconic and rare native bird life.

The ferry will return to Rangatira point at 3.30pm ready to take you back to the mainland after your day of incredible adventures in our great big blue and green backyard!

New snorkelers are encouraged. All equipment, guides and safety gear is provided.
