Looking for something to do in the school holidays? Bring the whole whānau to Reotahi and explore the waters of the Whangārei Harbour Marine Reserve.

Bring your own gear or get free hire of our mask, snorkel, fins, and wetsuits and go snorkeling with one of our experienced snorkel guides! You never know what you might spot - Discover triplefins, leatherjackets, nudibranchs, and many more species living around the rocky reef.

No pre-registration necessary for this event - just turn up and register with us on the day! Sea conditions permitting - Postponements announced via eventfinda/our EMR website and Fb page. Donations/koha welcome.

Recommended for everyone 5 years and up. All children under 15 years must be accompanied by an adult beach observer. Experienced guides and advanced safety procedures will be in place on the day.
Snorkel equipment and all joint surfaces will be sanitised thoroughly between uses. There will also be an event QR code to use on the day.

This event is funded Sport Northland - Tu Manawa Active Aotearoa Fund and supported by the Department of Conservation.

After your snorkel you can also walk to the nearby freezing works or climb Mt Aubrey or even Mt Manaia if you're feeling ambitious!

Directions: After McLeods Bay follow Reotahi Rd, then to the end of Beach Rd and up to the Reotahi carpark at the top of the hill.
