Explore Lake Rototoa with Experiencing Marine Reserves in partnership with Auckland Sea kayaks and Aoteoroa Lakes. With funding from the Auckland Council we are running our second Kayak and Snorkel Day at Lake Rototoa, one of Auckland’s precious dune lakes. Join us for a day of guided kayaking with Auckland Sea Kayaks, snorkelling with our experienced volunteer guides, freshwater workshops by Aotearoa Lakes and several other environmental information stalls . Fun for the whole whānau. Koha - donations appreciated.
Pre-Registrations are essential for both kayaking and snorkelling. Minimum age for kayaking is 7 and for snorkelling it is 5. No minimum age for the land based activities. Please note that the kayaking and snorkelling do not depart together - they are separate activities.
Registrations for kayaking will open to locals first on the 4th December, then they will open to the general public on the 10th January. Snorkelling registrations will be open to all from 4th December.

There will be 8x hire spots and 8x BYO spots for each time slot. Please arrive 15mins prior to your start time.
Slot 1: 10am-11.30am
Slot 2: 11.30am – 1.00pm
Slot 3: 1.00pm – 2.30pm
Snorkelling time slots (pre registration essential)
Slot 1: 10am-11.30am
Slot 2: 11.30am – 1.00pm
Slot 3: 1.00pm – 2.30pm
All snorkelling gear provided for free, including wetsuit, mask, snorkel and fins. Please arrive 15mins prior to your start time.
You are welcome to register for both kayaking and snorkelling but please make sure to book in different time slots for each activity.

COVID-19 Information
We can't wait to reconnect with you all and to help you explore our big blue backyard. EMR has always strived to be as inclusive as possible with all our events, however we are in unprecedented times, which means the safety of our crew, volunteers and participants is paramount. Vaccination certificates for all those ages 12 and over will be required for all* public events in the COVID Traffic Light framework for the summer of 2021/22 (*unless specified otherwise). Participants under 12 years of age will need to be accompanied by a fully vaccinated parent or guardian. All participants will need to use face coverings and distance where practical. Please bring the QR code for My Vaccine Pass on your phone or printed to be scanned & verified at the event. You will need to bring photo ID. Some events may require your vaccination status to be verified prior to registration.
