LOCATION UPDATE - EVENT MOVED TO ISLAND BAY BEACH
At Traffic Light Red booking may be required... this is a free event.
Come on down to Island Bay for the first of six Community Snorkel Days.
Our guides will get you kitted out, answer any fishy questions you might have and generally look after you whilst you take a dive into the salt and spray.
This is an awesome opportunity to learn more about the fascinating array of organisms that seek shelter within the reserve's protected boundaries.
We will also have local ocean experts joining us on dry land to share their knowledge on seaweed, sponges and many other amazing creatures found along our coastline.

COVID 19 INFORMATION
- Vaccination passes for all those age 12 years 3 months and over will be required for all* public events in the COVID Traffic Light framework for the summer of 2021/22 *unless specified otherwise.
- Please bring your QR code for My Vaccine Pass on your phone or printed to be scanned & verified at the event. You will need to bring photo ID.
- Distancing and face coverings to be worn when practical.

Beginner snorkelers are encouraged (but you must be able to swim). Wetsuits, snorkels, flippers, experienced guides and safety gear are provided.
You may need to book depending on COVID-19 restrictions so please keep an eye on this page and the Facebook event page for changes. If you click ‘attending’ on the Facebook event, you’ll receive important information and updates, including location changes and postponement due to weather (If the swell is up at Princess Bay, we may move the event to Island Bay).
Please bring a mask to wear out of the water, and a keep cup to enjoy a warm beverage after your swim.
What to bring: Togs, towel, sunhat, camera, warm clothes, snacks, keep cup, mask, My Vaccine Pass.
Please note the minimum age is 8 years, and children below 16 must be accompanied by a snorkelling adult. Entry to the final snorkel of the day will close at 2pm.
