The workshop will include a theory session covering survey methodology and fish ID, as well as a practical snorkel component all located at Enclosure Bay.
Minimum age for the activity is 12 years old, children 14 years and below need to have an adult supervisor present.

 

This event is in partnership with Waiheke Marine Project and is funded by the Waiheke Local Board and the Bobby Stafford Bush Foundation.

11.45am - 12.00pm Snorkel Briefing
12.00pm - 12.30pm Fish ID practice
12.30pm - 1.30pm Timed swim survey practice
1.30pm - 2.00pm Picnic lunch
2.00pm - 4.00pm Snorkel guide training (includes how to do a safety briefing, how to guide a group in the water and rescue drills)

You can sign up for parts of the day or all of it, it is up to your personal preference and what you would like to learn.

Bring your own gear or get free hire* of our mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuits. Recommended for everyone 12 years and up. Experienced guides and advanced safety procedures will be in place on the day.
